Beer is one of Devon’s most picturesque seaside villages. Set inside its own small cove known as Beer Roads, the village, beach and cove are sheltered from prevailing winds and benefit from a noticeable warmer micro climate.
From earliest times the two main occupations in Beer have been fishing and quarrying of the local stone. Fishing boats still set sail from Beer beach and it is very much a fishing village though quarrying for stone finished some years ago, however a visit to Beer Quarry Caves is an experience not to be missed.
There is a good selection of good guesthouses, small hotels and restaurants in Beer which make it an ideal place for a holiday or short break.
The Dolphin Hotel
We are a privately owned, family run hotel and bed and breakfast situated in the heart of the picturesque fishing village of Beer; yet only 150 yards from the stunning cove with its sheltered beach. We open all year round with the advantage of our own private car park for residents.
