Branscombe is believed to be the longest village in the country. The village sweeps down a spectacular valley, past pretty thatched cottages to the sea.
A thatched smithy dates from Norman times, and the Masons Arms, one of the prettiest Inns in Devon has a recorded history back to 1360.
The beach at Branscombe Mouth is in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty owned by the National Trust. There is a large car park, a thatched, licensed restaurant and a long sweeping beach.
Walkers can enjoy the countryside surrounding Branscombe or the coastal path from Sidmouth to the west and Beer to the East.
Branscombe has many events during the year, the highlight being the Branscombe Air Day and Classic Car Rally held during July.
