The Yeoman's Acre Hotel is an attractive private licensed hotel, situated in the delightful village of Colyford on the main A3052 Exeter to Lyme Regis road, only 1½ miles from the sea at Seaton and overlooks the Axe Estuary.
The Yeoman's Acre Hotel is a family business, owned by Mark and Lucy Dack, who will be delighted to welcome you and ensure that you have a pleasant visit.
We are only 1½ miles, from a 95 mile stretch of coastline between Exmouth in East Devon and Swanage in Dorset, which has been declared a World Heritage Site, because of its wealth of prehistoric remains.
The Jurassic Coast, as it is known, is considered to be the only place in the world displaying unbroken evidence of 185 million years of evolution.
Our bedrooms at Yeoman's Acre Hotel are comfortably furnished and decorated. They vary in size, from spacious doubles and twins to large family rooms with one sleeping up to five (2 adults and 3 children).
All the bedrooms have full en-suite facilities, colour television with remote control, and tea and coffee making facilities.
Our fully licensed restaurant is open to residents and non-residents and serves a full range of delicious home cooked food at lunchtime and in the evening.
For Easter 2007 we will have available two newly completed self-catering holiday lets. They will both sleep 2 - 4 people, and will offer a comfortable place to stay.
Each has a double/twin bedroom with high oak beamed ceiling and ensuite bathroom, in addition to an open plan kitchen/dining area and lounge (with comfortable leather sofa beds).
The kitchens have all modern appliances (including dishwasher, washing machine/tumble dryer and fridge/freezer) and again they have high oak beam ceilings.
There is private parking available for all guests.
The Hotel is an ideal base for a touring holiday.
Most places of interest such as Dartmoor and Exmoor, Torquay, Weymouth etc and the North Coast of Devon are within easy reach for daily excursions.
For those who prefer a more settled holiday, within ten miles, Seaton, Beer, Lyme Regis and Sidmouth, provide many entertainments, including beaches, golf, putting, tennis, sailing, fishing (short and long trips are available at Beer and Lyme Regis), bird watching, fossiling and cinema.
The Colyford terminus of Seaton Tramways is a short 5 minute walk from the hotel from where it is possible to catch one of the trams to either Seaton or Colyton.
Prior to his fatal motorcycle accident in 1935, TE Lawrence "of Arabia" was a regular customer at the old filling station (now a museum) which is also only a short walk away.
