Picton House is in the idyllic setting of the western slopes of Seaton Bay, close to Seaton yet within easy walking distance of picturesque Beer. Picton is a modern contemporary house offering en-suite facilities, superb bay views and a warm welcome.

Set in pleasant sunny position overlooking Seaton Bay, the house enjoys beautiful views of the sea, and the gardens provide the perfect place for peaceful relaxation.

There’s also the benefit of private parking within the grounds, so no need to worry about cars on the roadside or the cost of parking.

Directly opposite Picton House is the junction of Old Beer Road, which leads to the access to the beach at Seaton Hole - about 5 minutes’ walk.

Alternatively the walk through Cliff Gardens across the road leads to the Chine café on the beachfront.

There is also easy access to the cliff path to Beer, and on to Branscombe, with lovely views over Beer Head and beyond to Portland Bill - all part of the famous Jurassic Coastline,

Our aim is to make our guests feel completely at home in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Tea and coffee-making facilities are available at any time and the gardens are there to be enjoyed by all.

A choice of full English or Continental breakfast is served in the breakfast room, and during the summer months our guests are welcome to enjoy breakfast in the garden while taking in the clear morning air, the bright sunshine and the wonderful view of the brilliant blue sea!

Through our efforts to support local traders and small businesses we always use good quality local produce, with the emphasis on free-range and organic food wherever possible. Additionally, we are always happy to cater for alternative diets if desired. We think our visitors appreciate the difference.

The spacious lounge with its traditional stone fireplace enjoys superb sea views, and French doors lead to a verandah and landscaped gardens.

This makes for an ideal place to relax and meet other guests, but it is equally as pleasant for a quiet read in a peaceful atmosphere.

A selection of books and magazines is available, as well as satellite TV.

For those who prefer to stay at Picton House for the evening - and many often do - we can provide barbecuing facilities for those long warm summer evenings, along with all the ingredients needed for a great social evening with family or friends.

Our most popular room is on the ground floor for easy access. It has two luxury single beds and its own seating area. A private hallway leads to the en-suite shower room.

The second bedroom is on the first floor overlloking the garden and has a luxury double bed, comfortable seating and an en-suite shower room.

Our third room, also on the first floor with a luxury double bed, is attractively furnished and again, has a private en-suite shower room.

Radio-alarms & colour TV are featured in all bedrooms, plus all the bits necessary to enable you to enjoy the first cuppa of the day in bed!

The west side of Seaton provides access to beautiful countryside and beach walks.

Fabulous restaurants can be found, with many offering locally caught fresh fish as part of their menus. A wide variety of tastes and budgets is catered for in the area where our guests can find the best places to enjoy an evening out. Taxis and an excellent bus service are available for those who prefer to leave the car at home.

Beer beach is a 15 minute walk away from Picton House. The beach at Beer is a pretty little cove sheltered from the winds and very pleasant both in the day and at night. The Jubilee walk above the cliffs at the beach is perfect for a romantic evening stroll or to just sit & watch the sunset.
